Q. Is it required that I own a stenotype writer?

A. Yes. A manual stenotype writer may be rented from StenoTech for the first six months. Upon the completion of the Theory portion of the program, students must purchase a computerized stenowriter. We do not directly sell writers to students. However, we do have a representative from Stenograph who will come in and discuss purchase and lease options with the students. If a student already owns a machine at the time of class start, rental is not required.
